Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization in Boardman, OH. This individual will play a key role in both operational accounting and manufacturing cost accounting activities, with responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost analysis, and supporting plant leadership with financial insights. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a solid understanding of inventory, costing, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the monthly close process for the facility
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, income statements, and variance reporting
  • Manage manufacturing and inventory accounting activities, including cost center analysis and product costing
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Develop and present financial reports and business performance metrics to leadership
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
  • Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel functions to support reporting and analysis

This role is approximately a 50/50 blend of Senior Accountant and Cost Accountant responsibilities. The client is specifically seeking someone with a strong manufacturing background who understands inventory, costing, cost centers, and plant financials. Experience owning month-end close and presenting financial results to leadership will be critical for success in this position.

Candidate will be a direct-hire employee of our client, eligible to enroll in their benefits plans. Compensation sits between $73-109k with bonus opportunity as well.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory and cost accounting
  • Experience owning or heavily supporting month-end close activities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working within an ERP system
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities
  • KPI and management reporting experience
  • Experience leading projects or mentoring team members
  • Power BI or other financial reporting and visualization tools
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and plant leadership
