Job Description

Job Title: Regional Director of Operations (MUST reside in or within 20 minutes of Manhattan or Brooklyn.)

Salary: $125K, plus annual bonus, benefits, paid weekly

Job Summary:

The Regional Director of Operations leads the delivery of high-quality ambassador services across multiple programs in region. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring service excellence, and driving continuous improvement, anticipating customers' and potential clients' unmet needs and offer our services, and in alignment with Block-by-Block standards. The Regional Director of Operations works closely with staff, customers, and stakeholders to address local needs, manage resources, and foster a positive, collaborative team environment. Success in this position requires strong leadership, hands-on working leader involvement, business development skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team development.

Essential Functions:

  • Applies Block by Block standard concepts, processes, practices, and policies to daily operations to address local needs and concerns.

  • Provides daily guidance and direction for on-street operations in multiple districts; develops and adjusts deployment plans for personnel and equipment.

  • Trains, coaches, and mentors’ staff to build a cohesive team of Ambassadors.

  • Ensures service expectations are met through regular customer contact and performance evaluations; makes adjustments as necessary.

  • Engages customer representatives and stakeholders to address local issues and drive continual program evolution; implements new strategies for service improvement and business development.

  • Manages program labor costs and expenses.

  • Tracks daily statistics, photographs completed work, conducts bi-weekly and safety training, maintains equipment and inventories, processes payroll, and creates written reports.

  • Uses standard and custom reporting processes to update stakeholders on accomplishments and program effectiveness.

  • Actively participates in daily tasks as a visible, working director.

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create reports.

  • Tracks statistics/outcomes and creates written reports.

  • Maintains effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, including subordinates, Block by Block leadership, staff members, and customers.

  • Ensures compliance with all documentation requirements associated with the position.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED accepted, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on operations management in similar industry and business development experience.

  • Must travel regionally to include overnight stays in various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs.

  • Engaging and Positive Presence: Must lead by example with friendliness and a positive attitude.

  • Judgement and Decision Making: Must be competent to make decisions based on available information.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work weekends and multiple shifts as needed.

  • Technological Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, or walking; operate various equipment and tools; travel throughout the region.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve moderate exposure to the elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

  • Must be capable of working outside in extreme heat or cold, with provided gear and increased frequency of breaks.
