Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Day Neuro

PRN

PRN Rate:$60/hr

Responsibilities

We are seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Baylor Grapevine Day Neuro Clinic. This program is dedicated to helping patients achieve their highest level of independence and successfully reintegrate into the community following acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.

Our patient population often presents with multi-disciplinary co-morbidities, including aphasia, cognitive-communication impairments, motor speech disorders, and dysphagia. Many patients also have impaired mobility, gait, balance, and coordination deficits, as well as weakness, decreased endurance, spasticity, abnormal tone, postural instability, and other neuromuscular impairments.

Patients may additionally demonstrate upper extremity limitations and difficulty with functional mobility and activities of daily living.

Patients participate in comprehensive, team-based care, receiving up to six hours of therapy per day, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

Experience with TBI, SCI, and CVA preferred

Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Creative, innovative, and adaptable approach to patient care

Schedule:

PRN, weekday availability

Typical hours between 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.

  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
