It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns. Manchester Memorial is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our inpatient Pharmacy Department. Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technicians assist in performing pharmaceutical functions which include unit dose dispensing, sterile and nonsterile compound preparation, and obtaining medication histories in our Emergency Department. • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems. • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department. • Repackages bulk medications. • Receives and stores incoming supplies. • Assists (within scope of practice) with patient and staff education, resident/student training, peer interviewing and coaching, process improvement, and discharge prescriptions. •Positively interacts with patients and other hospital guests to enhance the quality of case/service provided. Education: High School Diploma required or equivalent. Experience: One or more years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. Hospital Pharmacy experience; strongly preferred License and Certification: Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the CT Department of Consumer protection within 30 days of hire. Pharmacy Technician national certification strongly preferred We take great care of careers.
