Job Description
We are looking for a Control Valve Planner to develop turnaround work scopes, create detailed control valve maintenance and repair work packages, coordinate materials and resources, and support outage execution activities. This position will be full-time contract and hybrid in Port Arthur, TX.
What You’ll Do
-
Develop and coordinate control valve turnaround and maintenance plans
-
Create detailed work packages, including P&IDs, BOMs, procedures, photos, QC requirements, and safety documentation
-
Perform field walks and valve surveys to verify scope and identify required work
-
Review valve specifications, location plans, and test/work packages for field execution
-
Organize materials, expedite parts, obtain quotes, and ensure equipment availability
-
Create planning activities and schedules using SAP, Primavera P6, and planning templates
-
Support outage execution with daily schedule updates and progress tracking
-
Collaborate with Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Operations, and Quality teams
-
Support client’s Management of Change process and maintain required project documentation
-
Complete closeout activities and documentation following project execution
What You'll Need
Required:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
5+ years of experience as a Control Valve Planner
-
5+ years of Control Valve Technician maintenance experience and/or control valve maintenance planning experience
-
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, valve specifications, location plans, and BOMs
-
Experience preparing, reviewing, and QA/QCing work packages
-
Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and work package development
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), SAP, and Primavera P6
-
Strong communication, planning, organization, and teamwork skills
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Active TWIC card
-
Willingness to travel up to 25-35% as project needs require
-
Ability to work a standard 40-hour planning schedule and a 7-days/12-hours turnaround execution schedule
Preferred:
-
Previous turnaround planning experience within the petrochemical, refinery, industrial gas, or related process industries
-
Experience supporting control valve overhauls and outage execution activities
-
Familiarity with Cleopatra planning software

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

Ability to perform field walks at industrial facilities and turnaround sites
-
Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and FRC clothing
-
Ability to work in industrial plant environments and travel between sites as needed
-
Ability to conduct repetitive computer-based tasks utilizing a keyboard, mouse, and monitor

$45-$50 per hour
The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
