Position Details

Advertising/Posting Title Research Data Systems Professional

Posting Summary

Oversee operational data collection processes for the Vermont Breast Cancer Surveillance System ( VBCSS ) and other research projects within the Office of Health Promotion Research ( OHPR ). Lead the execution of relational database application solutions using specialized software ( SQL Server, REDCap, MS Access, Match*Pro) to organize data for the VBCSS and other OHPR research projects. Develop and implement protocols within the UVM Health Network Epic electronic health record system to retrieve clinical data and medical images for OHPR research projects. Provide training to OHPR staff and trainees in the use of these data management protocols as needed. Coordinate data collection activities across OHPR staff and with staff at multiple Vermont-based healthcare facilities and the Vermont Department of Health. Execute quality control processes to ensure high-quality research data. Maintain tracking records for databases and research repositories. Create and maintain additional data collection instruments as needed. Ensure the security of restricted human subjects data through technical and administrative safeguards.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years experience in human subjects research data management

Experience with SQL Server, REDCap, MS Access, and Epic electronic medical records

Experience working with confidential Human Subjects data.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with cancer research and biomedical imaging research.

Experience working in collaborative settings with academic and healthcare partners

UVM human subjects training credentials and UVM Medical Center research credentials

Anticipated Pay Range $65,000 -$75,000

Other Information

Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
