Full job description
The Team:
Come help shape and operationalize the future of Ford’s Customer Service Division (FCSD). FCSD is on a transformational journey to rapidly grow our global parts, service, and aftermarket businesses while delivering an exceptional ownership experience throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
The FCSD Strategy & Transformation team serves as the connective tissue between our strategic ambitions and the operational reality of execution. We help define where FCSD will play, how we will win, and the capabilities, governance, and operating rhythms required to deliver measurable results. We are seeking a high impact executive leader who can shape the strategic agenda, mobilize the enterprise, and drive the business forward through rigorous analysis, decisive action, and measurable outcomes.
The Opportunity:
This role offers a unique chance to own FCSD's most critical strategic priorities — from initial problem framing through full operational execution. As a director, you will set the strategic agenda for your business area, translate leadership vision into organization-wide action, and be directly accountable for outcomes that define Ford’s competitive position in the market. You will operate as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership and a peer to functional leaders across the enterprise — influencing decisions that shape Ford's trajectory for years to come.
The Role:
As the FCSD, Director of Strategy & Transformation, you will own the development and delivery of FCSD’s strategy — driving alignment, accelerating execution, and building the organizational capability to compete and win in a rapidly evolving market. In this role you will:
-
Set The Strategic Agenda: Own the end-to-end development of the business's long-range strategy — defining where Ford plays, how Ford wins, and what it takes to get there. You will lead the synthesis of market intelligence, competitive dynamics, customer insights, and financial analysis into clear strategic choices that guide enterprise investment and resource allocation.
-
Drive Enterprise-Wide Execution: Translate strategy into operational reality by designing and leading the execution systems that move FCSD's business from strategic intent to measurable market outcomes. You will own the operational cadence, governance structures, and decision frameworks that keep the most critical initiatives on track across a complex, matrixed organization.
-
Own High-Stakes Strategic Problem Solving: Lead FCSD's response to its most complex business challenges — market positioning, portfolio strategy, go-to-market model, expansion, and competitive response. You will build and deploy rigorous problem-solving frameworks that generate decisive insights and clear recommendations for C-suite action.
-
Convert Insights into Competitive Advantage: Build and maintain a world-class fact base — integrating market data, customer behavior, competitor intelligence, and financial modeling into a living strategic asset. You will lead teams to move beyond descriptive analysis to prescriptive decision-making that strengthens Ford's market position.
-
Lead And Develop the Strategy Organization: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of strategy and transformation professionals. You will define team structure, cultivate talent, and create a culture of analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and relentless focus on impact. You will lead leaders — not just individual contributors.
-
Shape Executive Decision-Making: Serve as a principal advisor to senior leadership and the executive team. You will lead strategic dialogues, frame critical trade-offs, and deliver the clarity and conviction leadership needs to make high-stakes decisions with speed and confidence.
-
Drive Organizational Alignment and Change: Act as the enterprise's primary catalyst for transformation — securing deep organizational commitment across product, technology, marketing, sales, finance, and manufacturing. You will not manage consensus — you will drive it and hold the organization accountable for delivery.
Who You Are:
-
12+ years of progressive experience in strategy and transformation with a bachelor's degree, or 10+ years of experience with a master's degree, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles with direct accountability for enterprise-level strategic outcomes.
-
Proven executive presence with a demonstrated track record of influencing and advising C-suite and senior leadership on complex, high-stakes strategic decisions.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead leaders — building, structuring, and developing high-performing strategy teams that deliver outsized impact.
-
Exceptional strategic problem-solving capability — comfort with ambiguity, speed in structuring complex problems, and the analytical horsepower to generate decisive insights from incomplete information.
-
Track record of driving large-scale organizational change — not just defining strategy but mobilizing complex, matrixed organizations to execute against it.
-
Outstanding executive communication skills — ability to distill complexity into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences in written and verbal form.
Preferred Experience:
-
Prior experience in a VP, Director, or Principal-level role within a top-tier management consulting firm or an in-house strategy function at a global company.
-
Direct experience owning product strategy, go-to-market strategy, or business unit P&L at scale — including international markets.
-
Experience leading strategic planning processes at the business unit or enterprise level — including portfolio prioritization, investment allocation, and long-range planning.
-
Prior experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or M&A.
