Sr Analyst-Business Development

New York, NY, United States(Hybrid)

Job Description

Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers’ digital lives. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation.

The Global Digital Payments Business Development & Partnerships team is a high impact group within Amex Digital Labs responsible for launching, managing, and expanding new digital payments products and partnerships, including Apple, Google, Samsung, Amazon, and other emerging partners in the space.

Role Description:

As Senior Analyst, you will support the Global Digital Payments Business Development & Partnerships team across key global wallet partnerships, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and others. You will help drive day-to-day partnership operations, performance reporting, regulatory tracking, and cross-market coordination to ensure our digital wallet partnerships operate efficiently at global scale. In addition, this role will help drive AI-enabled workflow enhancements to improve team efficiency, scalability, and governance.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Payments Partnerships, this role will have a cross-wallet remit, providing flexibility to support broader wallet reporting, strategy, and operational priorities as business needs evolve. You will collaborate closely with Digital Labs Product, Go-To Market, Network, Legal, Compliance, Strategic Partnerships, International Card Services (ICS) and Marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support business operations across digital wallet partnerships, including partner-facing performance reporting, KPI tracking, and executive briefing materials

  • Identify and pilot opportunities to embed AI tools into team workflows (e.g., reporting automation, document drafting, knowledge management, tracking processes) and share best practices to enhance team productivity and scalability

  • Own cross-wallet reporting and analytics exercises–distilling insights from dashboard, identifying performance trends and risks, and owning internal performance communications and monthly KPI updates

  • Manage partner payment and fee reporting, including reporting submission, invoice reconciliation, diligence, and remediation of open items

  • Support cross-wallet regulatory compliance tracking and provide BD team engagement in regulatory change management workstreams as needed

  • Support digital wallet expansion to international markets by owning pre-launch operational activities to ensure launch readiness (e.g., vendor setup, launch checklists, etc.)

  • Collaborate with global and local marketing teams on wallet marketing initiatives and incentives, synthesizing performance results and communicating business impact to internal and partner stakeholders

  • Support broader wallet strategy initiatives by monitoring digital wallet and payments industry trends, synthesizing competitive insights, and contributing to special projects as business needs evolve

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in partner management, strategy, business development, fintech, digital payments, or a quantitative/analytical role

  • Demonstrated proficiency leveraging AI tools to enhance day-to-day workflows, with curiosity and initiative to test and adopt emerging technologies

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with experience interpreting, manipulating, and deriving insights from data to support performance reporting and decision-making

  • Excellent organizational and program management skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams to drive alignment, accountability, and structured execution

  • Natural problem solver who enjoys building scalable systems and processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ownership and intellectual curiosity, comfortable operating independently and within highly collaborative, cross-functional teams

  • Strong interest in digital payments, Big Tech, eCommerce trends, AI, and digital products

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
