Full job description
We have an Excellent Contract position for a Designer III to join a leading Company located in theGainesville, TXsurrounding area.
This position performs design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates between various customers and vendors. Interfaces with Program Manager on project development and design progress. Reviews customer requirements and specification and relates them to product design. Monitors day-to-day design progress as required. Assures conformity of product and that engineering deadlines are met . Works and makes decisions independently with little supervision.
Job Responsibilities:

Confers with customers and vendors on conceptual configuration and initial design requirements for various new and on-going seat programs.

Reviews design specifications and incorporates into the assigned product.

Prepares layouts of overall design task including structural and articulation systems.

Defines design standards to maintain commonality with existing product line.

Defines and sets goals as to complete tasks as expeditiously as possible.

Prepares advanced bill of materials and long-lead item list.

Reviews the design package to ensure conformance to latest specifications and regulations.

Prepares drawings for release.

Assumes liaison duties when product reaches the various manufacturing stages.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
-
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree)

An additional 5 years of related design experience required with a Bachelor's degree.

Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.

Requires advanced knowledge of aircraft seat products.

Must have good knowledge of materials and production processes, and mechanical knowledge of parts and stress conditions.

Requirement: Ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

Ability to read and review written communication.
Desired Qualifications:
-
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree.

An additional 4 years of related design experience required with Masters degree.

APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.

CATIA V.5
