Job Description
Insight Global's client is looking for a Technical Product Owner to join their team to help own their application called Lighthouse which is a Supply Chain Control Tower.
-
Lighthouse is a dedicated supply chain control tower built for the North American market, designed to identify, manage, and mitigate active disruptions within the supply chain network.
-
The tool has been developed over the last five years as a white material product and is deeply integrated into daily supply chain business routines.
-
Historically, the product was managed by the digital team with a heavy emphasis on business-side requirements.
-
A newly established structure has been put in place to balance decision authority between business stakeholders and technical execution teams.
-
Under this model, the business side owns the "why" and "what" of product features, acting as a co-pilot with complete technical visibility.
-
The technology team sits in the "driving seat" regarding the "how" of technical execution, integration, and architecture. This structural change has received positive feedback and buy-in across stakeholders.
-
Core Responsibilities
-
Act as a translator who can convert business requirements and stakeholder requests directly into technical solutions and delivery paths.
-
Perform deep technical assessments on business requirements to determine the optimal technologies, platform tools, and technical skill sets required to deliver the proposed model.
-
Decipher requirements and allocate specific execution tasks to the appropriate backend technical teams.
-
Manage expectations and pushbacks on both sides, ensuring technical feasibility while pushing back constructively against unviable business timelines or requests.
-
Note that hands-on coding, scripting, or building dashboards is not required; the role is focused on technical translation, requirement architecture, and stakeholder management.
-
Technical Stack and Platform Requirements
-
The standard tech stack utilized by the engineering teams includes SAP09, OMP, Snowflake, Azure, and Power BI.
-
High-priority skills: Solid knowledge of Snowflake and Power BI is the most critical requirement for this role, as the product's centralized data lake is built entirely on Snowflake.
-
The TPO will interface directly with specialized data talent, including Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Scientists, and Software Developers.
Skills and Requirements
•5+ years of experience as a Product Owner •Supply chain experience/exposure would be incredibly helpful •Experience coordinating multiple technology teams and stakeholders. •Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. ** soft skills are very important •Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Ideal engineering background moved into product
- Needs to translate what business asks into a technical solution. Based on the tech stack we have what tech team do I need to do the work etc. A lot of expectation management with the business and technical team.
- Snowflake (Data Lake) and Power BI - •Experience with Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, Analytics, or Digital platforms. •Familiarity with SAP, o9, OMP, Snowflake, Azure, Power BI, or similar enterprise technologies. •Experience working with global teams and external partners.
