Full job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.

  • Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort.

  • Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test.

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures.

  • Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems.

  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards.

  • Problem solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative and CES regarding equipment problems.

  • Completes all clinical supply inventory, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedures.

  • Ensures that patient orientation, patient preparation/history and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following exam completion.

  • Reviews the physician orders to verify the types of diagnostic exam requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate

  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, within 9 - months or

  • ARMRIT MRI, within 9 - months or

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Preferred

  • Associate's ddegree in healthcare field or Imaging Studies

  • 1-3 years one year of MR experience

  • Medical Radiographer: TX

Pay Range

$37.40 - $55.63 /hour
