Buyer

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to join a collaborative team in Appleton, Wisconsin. This is a Long-term Contract position supporting daily purchasing activity, supplier communication, and order accuracy in a fast-moving environment. The role is well suited for someone who can balance reporting, pricing updates, and cross-functional coordination while maintaining a high level of precision.

Responsibilities:

• Review purchasing requests and analyze demand patterns, stock levels, and usage trends to ensure orders align with business needs.

• Source pricing and availability information from suppliers and prepare quote comparisons to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving invoices, shipments, and purchase orders by working directly with vendors and internal teams.

• Partner with accounting and shipping personnel to address order issues, improve accuracy, and keep transactions moving efficiently.

• Prepare and maintain recurring operational reports such as open purchase orders, unacknowledged orders, stock reviews, and cost-related summaries.

• Update item pricing and maintain accurate purchasing data within Epicor P21 and related systems.

• Monitor price adjustments and purchasing activity to help support timely replenishment and consistent supply.

• Contribute to a busy, fast-paced workflow by handling multiple priorities and supporting day-to-day order entry and purchasing tasks. Requirements • At least 1 year of relevant experience in purchasing, order entry, accounting support, inside sales, logistics, expediting, or a related function.

• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills and comfort working with numbers, reports, and transactional information.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, including intermediate Excel skills such as VLOOKUP and spreadsheet analysis.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of English grammar.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment.

• Experience working in a distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing setting is helpful.

• Familiarity with Epicor P21 or similar ERP systems is preferred.

• Proven ability to learn new systems and processes quickly while working well as part of a team.
