Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an FPGA engineer in St. Petersburg, FL. This person is responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of FPGA-based digital systems used within medical devices and instrumentation platforms. This role supports product development from concept through design verification by translating system requirements into FPGA architectures that enable data acquisition, signal processing, image processing, motor control, sensor integration, and device communications.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Recent Medical Device or regulated industry experience required.
  • 4+ years experience with FPGA design
  • 4+ years experience with schematic design
  • Experience using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • 3+ years experience with implementing state machines, memory controllers, communication interfaces, and control logic.
  • Experience with applications involving physiological monitoring, imaging systems, laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, and sensor-based medical devices.
  • experience with latency, power consumption, and reliability for product development.
