Job Summary

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support in a Windows-based environment. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues while delivering excellent customer service to end users. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Windows devices, Microsoft technologies, and common enterprise applications in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support for end users in a Windows 10/11 environment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, docking stations, monitors, and mobile devices.

  • Support Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.

  • Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Active Directory.

  • Provide password reset assistance and support multi-factor authentication (MFA) issues.

  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues involving VPNs, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and network printers.

  • Perform workstation imaging, deployments, upgrades, and equipment refresh projects.

  • Manage ticket queues and document incidents, requests, and resolutions within the ticketing system.

  • Support hardware inventory management and asset tracking processes.

  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and other IT teams to resolve escalated technical issues.

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, workstation setup, and employee offboarding activities.

  • Maintain adherence to IT security policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Provide both remote and in-person support while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, or IT Support roles.

  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office applications.

  • Experience with Active Directory user administration.

  • Familiarity with imaging and deployment tools.

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and wireless networking.

  • Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, or Autopilot.

  • Experience supporting conference room technology and AV equipment.

  • Exposure to Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rye Brook, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
