KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Engineer, System & Infrastructure Administrator (Red Hat Linux & Solaris) to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, optimize, secure, and troubleshoot enterprise Oracle 11 as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x and 9.x server environments

Administer physical Oracle/Sun SPARC Enterprise and T-Series hardware alongside enterprise x86 server platforms; deploy, configure, and maintain Solaris Global and Non-Global Zones, and enterprise Linux virtualization platforms (for example, VMware ESXi, KVM)

Configure and maintain SAN connectivity, multi-pathing (MPxIO, DM-Multipath), and filesystems (ZFS, LVM, XFS), alongside resilient network configurations (VLANs, IPMP, and bonding/teaming)

Implement OS security baselines, user access controls (RBAC/sudo), PAM authentication, and Linux security controls including SELinux and firewalld

Develop, maintain, and optimize administrative shell scripts using KornShell (ksh) and Bash to automate routine tasks, monitoring checks, and administrative workflows

Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to provide 24/7 production support, handle incident escalations, perform root-cause analysis (RCA), and execute scheduled maintenance windows

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

Minimum five years of recent enterprise UNIX/Linux systems administration experience supporting dual Solaris and RHEL environments

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, IT, or engineering is required or seven years of equivalent working experience

In-depth knowledge of Oracle/Sun SPARC (Enterprise & T-Series) and Linux x86 hardware platforms, alongside proven proficiency managing Solaris Global and Non-Global zones

Practical experience with SAN integration, multi-pathing (MPxIO, DM-Multipath), NFS configuration, ZFS, and Linux LVM/XFS file systems

Solid understanding of enterprise networking (VLANs, IPMP, bonding/teaming) and Linux security tools, including SELinux and firewalld

Strong proficiency in writing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automation scripts using KornShell (ksh) and Bash
