The Dupont Vespel® business is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the team.

This position is located at our Ridgeway, VA site.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician with an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or a related field. A successful candidate will possess a technical foundation in mechanical equipment design / troubleshooting and machining, a quality-focused mindset, and the organization, communication skills, and initiative to support a mixed manufacturing environment.

This role involves designing fixtures, reading and creating drawings, programming CNC machining centers, and helping optimize manufacturing processes at the Ridgeway Site , as well as working with the Operations team at the Pencader Site in Newark, DE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support for manufacturing operations including CNC machining of Vespel® parts and shapes

  • Program and optimize CNC machining centers

  • Design and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and inspection gauges for discrete part manufacturing

  • Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure production/technology changes are thoroughly reviewed and documented.

  • Create work instructions to support new parts and operations.

  • Support capital planning for manufacturing and facility equipment needs.

  • Provide project support, including development of basic data, documentation management, and technical assistance.

  • Interface with the Manufacturing Technology and Quality organizations at the Pencader site

  • Provide regular updates and communicate progress to project team leaders and stakeholders.

  • Understand and adhere to Pencader Mechanical Drafting standards and practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or a related field

  • Minimum 10 years of experience

  • Proficiency in CNC programming

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM 3D modeling

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, documentation, and reporting

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Proficiency in ASME 14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using SolidWorks

  • Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) software

  • Experience in a discreet manufacturing environment, particularly with change management processes.

The Pay range for this role is $23.95 - $37.63 Hourly
