The contributions you will make:

This is an exciting opportunity to build and shape Enterprise Architecture at Compeer Financial. As Director, Enterprise Architecture, you'll lead the continued development of our enterprise architecture practice while building and developing a high-performing team of architects. You'll partner with senior business and technology leaders to turn strategy into clear architectural direction, influence where and how we invest in technology, and help simplify and modernize our technology landscape. With responsibility spanning business, application, data, infrastructure, cloud, and emerging technologies, you'll have the opportunity to create the standards and practices that enable teams to move faster while building secure, scalable solutions for the future.

A typical day:

Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Enterprise Architecture team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and architectural excellence.

Partner with senior business and technology leaders to translate organizational priorities into target-state business capabilities, technology architecture, and investment decisions.

Shape and evolve Compeer's Enterprise Architecture strategy, including our approach to FinTech and AgTech.

Establish practical architecture principles, standards, and governance across business, applications, data, infrastructure, cloud, and AI.

Advance business architecture by connecting technology investments to business capabilities, outcomes, growth opportunities, and transformation priorities.

Lead the Architecture Review Board, helping teams make thoughtful technology and solution decisions while balancing agility, risk, and enterprise standards.

Partner with product and delivery teams to modernize our technology portfolio, reduce technical debt, and determine where legacy platforms should evolve or be simplified.

Explore what's next, including AI, automation, API-first integration, cloud, and other emerging technologies, and help determine where those capabilities can create meaningful business and client value.

The skills and experience we prefer you have:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. A master's degree and certifications such as TOGAF, cloud architecture, SAFe, or CISSP are preferred.

12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5 to 7 years in Enterprise Architecture or related leadership roles, with experience leading and developing architects across multiple domains.

Experience building or maturing an Enterprise Architecture practice, including governance, architecture standards, and Architecture Review Board processes.

Broad architecture expertise across business, application, data, infrastructure, and security, with experience in cloud strategy, application portfolio management, and legacy modernization.

The ability to connect business strategy to technology direction and communicate complex ideas clearly with both executive and technical audiences.

A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build trust, influence decisions, and bring people together across business and technology.

Strong coaching and people leadership skills with a passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams.

Experience evaluating emerging technologies such as AI/ML, intelligent automation, and API-first integration and determining where they can deliver meaningful value.
