Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a healthcare organization. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing daily accounting operations with month-end support and cross-functional problem-solving. The position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting activities, and helping ensure reliable accounting processes across multiple clinic locations.
Responsibilities:

Review and process vendor invoices, verifying proper coding, completeness, and payment accuracy before entry.

Perform reconciliations for bank activity and general ledger accounts to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities by preparing schedules, organizing support, and assisting with deadline-driven accounting tasks.

Create journal entries and preserve clear documentation to support account activity and audit readiness.

Reconcile incoming cash receipts and deposits from several clinic sites to ensure balances are recorded correctly.

Examine vendor statements, research outstanding items, and help resolve billing or payment inconsistencies.

Track fixed assets and prepaid balances, ensuring records remain current and expenses are recognized appropriately.

Support vendor onboarding and maintain organized, up-to-date vendor records within accounting files.

Assist with financial reporting requests, audit preparation, and adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Partner with clinic leadership and corporate teams to address accounting questions and improve issue resolution across departments.
Requirements • Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger in a detail-focused accounting environment.

Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination.

Familiarity with accounts receivable activities such as cash application, receipt reconciliation, and deposit tracking.

Ability to support financial statement preparation and contribute to monthly and annual close processes.

Strong account reconciliation skills with attention to detail and accuracy across multiple balance sheet accounts.

Comfortable working with supporting documentation, audit requests, and established internal control procedures.

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across clinic operations and corporate departments.
