Job Description

An employer is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support the procurement of materials and equipment for a leading construction organization. This individual will manage purchase orders, source and evaluate vendors, coordinate deliveries, maintain accurate ERP data, support bidding activities, and help ensure project teams receive the materials and equipment they need on time. The ideal candidate has strong purchasing and negotiation experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to balance cost, quality, availability, and delivery requirements. This person will work closely with vendors, customers, project teams, and other supply chain personnel throughout the procurement lifecycle. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Manage purchase orders and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule Identify and contact appropriate vendors to confirm material and equipment availability, pricing, and delivery options Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes to determine the best overall value Issue purchase orders to selected vendors Coordinate deliveries to project sites and proactively communicate delivery schedules Research unfamiliar equipment and materials and provide relevant information to internal customers Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project teams, and the broader supply chain organization Maintain positive relationships with strategic suppliers to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives Assist with the preparation of bidding documents, including bidder instructions, specifications, notices, and proposal forms Review and approve invoices and authorize payments Analyze industry, supply, and demand trends Support senior leadership in developing and implementing sourcing strategies Resolve vendor issues, disputes, and delivery concerns Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system Implement and improve procurement processes focused on efficiency, cost savings, and best practices Assist team members with forecasting and budgeting throughout the procurement cycle Partner with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing specifications, sources, availability, pricing, shipping, and receiving requirements Address customer concerns promptly with a focus on customer satisfaction

Skills and Requirements

3-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or a related field 3+ years of experience with buying, purchasing, and vendor negotiations 4+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel Strong understanding of procurement processes and the purchasing lifecycle Experience working with ERP systems and maintaining accurate procurement data Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field Experience supporting the construction, manufacturing, industrial, or equipment sector Experience preparing or supporting bidding documentation Experience with supply chain forecasting and budgeting Experience analyzing industry and demand trends Spanish-language proficiency
