The Opportunity
This function develops, maintains and enhances metric reports to support operational activities within the Long Term Care (LTC) department. Determines validity of data and provides supporting explanations of conclusions reached. This function will be committed to delivering the highest level of service to internal customers within LTC, GTO and Finance departments and to external business partners.
Business hours for this role will align with Eastern or Central Time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain MS Access Databases (including VBA, macros, custom forms, and data connections), complex SQL-based reports, and business intelligence dashboards using tools such as Cognos and Power BI to support internal and external partners, compliance, and state regulatory requirements.
- Compile, analyze, and present operational and transactional data, including trend analysis, financial performance results, metric summaries, capacity and staffing models, and complex data models, delivering findings to senior management through PowerPoint presentations and executive-level reporting.
- Develop and maintain operational workflows, SharePoint solutions, and reporting tools that support management activities, short and long-term projections, and Department of Insurance reporting and rate action filings, while ensuring data integrity through thorough QA and process documentation.
- Interact with stakeholders across all levels and departments to understand processes, gather requirements, identify optimization and automation opportunities, and recommend and implement process improvements that achieve cost savings, improved data capture, and service upgrades.
- Identify and aggregate associate- and unit-level metrics including inventory, productivity, cycle time, and accuracy; merge data from multiple sources; partner with IT for appropriate system access; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in MS Access application development (including VBA, macros, custom forms, data connections, and ETL) and data-focused roles spanning Business Intelligence, SQL databases, ETL processes, and advanced analytics systems.
- Strong understanding of database structures, complex query writing (SQL/Access) and report development
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present/support recommendations in multiple settings to senior leadership.
- Ability to select appropriate approved AI tools, develop strong prompts for effective outputs, and integrate AI into workflows while maintain ownership of decisions and final deliverables.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in long-term care, finance, claims operations, case management, insurance, or a related field, with 5+ years of report development experience in Cognos or Qlikview, complex SQL query writing, and ETL processes such as SSIS.
- 3+ years of experience in database development (preferably SQL Server), SharePoint and InfoPath development (lists, libraries, and forms), predictive modeling software (R, SAS, or SPSS), and Alteryx workflow development.
- Prior experience in the insurance industry and/or Long-Term Care.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $71,100 - $105,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
