Description
Job Summary:
-
Performs advanced and time sensitive scheduling tasks to support complex surgical, endoscopy, or invasive Cardiology and/or imaging and associated PAT appointments.
-
This includes scheduling cases performed in an inpatient and outpatient setting, coordination of multiple specialties and several providers, coordination of appropriate block and room resource utilization/allocation, as well as regular communication with specialty stakeholders.
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
-
One year of healthcare scheduling experience in a clinic or hospital setting is required

12-18 months of healthcare scheduling experience in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred
-
Basic computer skills to include using email, word, and excel
Additional Competencies:
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients, employees, and other information covered by regulations and professional ethics.
-
Responds in a timely and professional manner to verbal and written requests.
-
Able to collaborate with others as necessary to promote schedule optimization and accuracy
-
Schedules pre-procedure anesthesia appointments (PATs) and/or testing
-
Maintains established departmental guidelines regarding productivity, quality, and communication
-
Communicates requests for required equipment/supplies for scheduled procedures with service nurse managers
-
Communicates in electronic, written, and verbal form with providers, clinic/practice staff, and clinical leaders
-
Review and finalize the OR Schedule for the following day
Key Responsibilities:
-
Coordination of cases performed in an inpatient and outpatient setting, multiple specialties with several providers within these specialties.
-
Coordination of appropriate block and room resource utilization/allocation.
-
Maintain regular communication with specialty stakeholders.
-
Assist with educational presentations for procedural scheduling stakeholders.

Assist Patient Care Coordinators with navigating the OR Snapboard and necessary elements of the case request.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
