JOB SUMMARY:

The Recycle Manager reports to the Senior Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the mill’s recycled fiber and stock preparation systems. This role provides leadership for safety, quality, productivity, cost control, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and environmental performance. The Recycle Manager works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to optimize fiber utilization and support mill objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support safe operations within recycled fiber and stock preparation processes.

  • Optimize fiber quality, yield, furnish costs, and operational efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.

  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering on capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Support environmental compliance and sustainability objectives.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve recovered fiber quality.

  • Provide operational leadership and support during supervisor or management absences.

  • Participate in weekend and off-shift coverage as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 5-10 years of experience in recycled fiber processing, stock preparation, papermaking, or manufacturing operations.

  • 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with process improvement, reliability, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.

  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of recycled fiber processing and stock preparation systems.

  • Understanding of fiber quality, yield optimization, and contaminant control.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality management systems.

  • Strong decision-making and project management skills.

  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office, and manufacturing reporting tools.

  • Ability to champion company policies, procedures, and operational excellence.
