Summary

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Asset Management, you will conduct and assist in bank supervision activities and objectives involving asset management functions. Large and Global Financial Institutions (LGFI) New York, NY (Preferred Location) Alternate Location Arrangement (ALA) option available. See Additional Information for more.

Duties

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Asset Management, you will: Oversee ongoing supervisory efforts of asset management activities and manage team(s) of assisting personnel during supervisory activities. Plan, coordinate, and monitor asset management supervisory activities which includes assessing risk, developing supervisory strategies and determining the scope of supervisory activities. Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Prepare reports of activities and develop responses to address risk. Conduct or participate in discussions with large bank management on findings and recommendations. Maintain effective communications within the OCC to ensure that appropriate coordination and follow-up activities take place. Requirements

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. There are three key documents that contain important information about your rights and obligations. Please read and retain these documents: Noncriminal Justice Applicant's Privacy Rights, for those who undergo an FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check for personnel vetting, which includes Rap Back, FD-258 Privacy Act Statement - FBI (this is the same statement used when your fingerprints are submitted as part of your background investigation), and SEAD-3-Reporting-U.pdf (dni.gov), (applicable to those who hold a sensitive position or have eligibility for access to classified information). Complete a one-year trial period (unless already completed). Complete a background investigation (unless already completed). Sign a statement that you are voluntarily leaving the competitive service for a position in the excepted service, if applicable. Travel overnight or locally on a frequent basis. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. File an OCC Financial Disclosure Form. Complete a financial disclosure review and resolve any ethics issues. All newly appointed employees to the excepted service are subject to a trial period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the trial period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. If no certification is made before the trial period ends, your appointment will be terminated. You are encouraged to actively engage with your supervisor, seek feedback, and understand role expectations. Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Leading asset management examinations or reviews consisting of a variety of asset management products and services (e.g. wealth management, investment management, custody functions, corporate trust, retirement services/operations, internal controls, etc.) in a financial institution to identify and mitigate risk. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To receive any credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate the number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

Current OCC employees must have a performance rating of at least Successful (i.e., Level 3) to be eligible for promotion. If in an alternate location, when traveling to New York, NY, you will be expected to be on site no later than 1:30 pm on the first workday, departing no earlier than noon on the last workday and there should be no travel on Sunday unless there is a business need approved by your authorizing official in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or the OCC FTR Supplement. Additional Information regarding LGFI Assignments - Selectees from LGFI job postings may be assigned to any of the LGFI Institutions within a Metropolitan work area and should expect work assignments in more than one institution within an LGFI City: New York City Metro Area includes: BNY Mellon, Citibank, HSBC, JPMC, Morgan Stanley, MUFG, RBC and Wells Fargo as well as field staff assigned to International Banking Supervision.
