Job Description

A large and growing company in Waco, TX is seeking a Lead Aircraft Structural Integrity Project Engineer to provide technical and program leadership for aircraft integrity initiatives supporting military aircraft platforms. This individual will serve as an IPT Lead responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing cost and schedule performance, leading customer engagements, and overseeing the collection, analysis, and communication of aircraft structural integrity data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aircraft structures, damage tolerance, fatigue analysis, and loads and dynamics while also demonstrating proven project engineering and cross-functional leadership experience. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Act as IPT Lead for structural integrity initiatives, coordinating work across a team of structural engineers.
  • Manage engineering scope, schedule, technical execution, and customer deliverables.
  • Collect, analyze, and present aircraft structural integrity data to support customer decision-making.
  • Evaluate structural concerns related to fatigue life, damage tolerance, loads, and dynamic loading environments.
  • Lead investigations into potential structural failures and develop mitigation or redesign recommendations.
  • Interface directly with customer representatives to communicate program status, engineering findings, and technical recommendations.
  • Support program execution through EVMS processes and cost/schedule tracking activities as required.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience serving as a Project Engineer, IPT Lead, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or similar engineering leadership role
  • 8+ years of aircraft structural engineering experience
  • Experience with: Damage Tolerance, Fatigue & Fracture Analysis, Loads & Dynamics, Structural Analysis, and Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs
  • Previous experience leading engineering teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with high level executives, program leaders, external customers, etc.
  • Experience responding to engineering change requests/technical inquiries (ICT's)
  • Experience analyzing technical data and communicating findings to customers and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting aircraft sustainment, modification, modernization, or airworthiness programs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Basic understanding/experience of EVMS/CAM
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • ASIP experience
  • ABDAR experience
  • Military aircraft experience
