Accountant

Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support daily financial operations for a growing organization in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is eager to build hands-on experience across core transactional and reconciliation activities. The position offers exposure to both payables and receivables while contributing to accurate records, timely reporting, and smooth month-end processing.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Record customer payments, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with maintaining organized receivables activity.

• Prepare and post journal entries to keep the general ledger current and properly supported.

• Complete bank account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate cash records.

• Perform account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts, resolving variances promptly.

• Assist with month-end close tasks by organizing financial data and supporting the preparation of routine reports.

• Maintain orderly accounting records and documentation to support audits, reviews, and internal controls.

Requirements • Experience or foundational knowledge in accounts payable and invoice processing.

• Experience or foundational knowledge in accounts receivable and cash application activities.

• Ability to prepare journal entries with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and identifying differences between records and statements.

• Understanding of account reconciliation practices and general ledger support.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured environment.

• Proficiency with standard accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
