SUMMARY

Premier Group Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who can independently manage complex accounting engagements, lead recurring close and reporting activities, and serve as a reliable technical resource for clients and team members.

This role is designed for an experienced accountant who understands the full accounting cycle and can move beyond task completion to reviewing financial results, identifying issues, improving processes, and helping less-experienced staff succeed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Prepare and review federal financial reporting schedules, account analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, variance explanations, and supporting documentation.

? Perform complex monthly and quarterly reconciliations involving general ledger, Treasury, intragovernmental, suspense, clearing, payroll, grant, and other fund-related accounts.

? Research and resolve unreconciled balances, abnormal balances, unsupported transactions, aging items, and other financial discrepancies.

? Support federal financial statement preparation and reporting requirements, including schedules and supporting documentation prepared in accordance with applicable federal accounting and reporting requirements.

? Support budget execution and funds management, including budget-to-actual analysis, obligation and expenditure monitoring, forecasting, funding availability, and identification of potential funding issues.

? Assist with monitoring appropriations, commitments, obligations, expenditures, and available balances.

? Support grant financial management, including review of grant expenditures, drawdowns, financial activity, reconciliations, closeout documentation, and compliance with 2 CFR Part 200.

? Analyze reimbursable agreements and interagency agreements, including obligations, earned revenue, collections, expenditures, cost recovery, and reconciliation activity.

? Support accounting and financial analysis for revolving funds, working capital funds, and other complex governmental fund structures.

? Perform payroll and labor-cost analysis, including reconciliation of payroll activity to funding sources, organizational units, programs, projects, or other cost objectives.

? Prepare audit-ready workpapers and supporting schedules and respond to auditor, client, and management requests for financial documentation.

? Perform trend, variance, anomaly, and financial-data analysis to identify errors, emerging risks, and areas requiring management attention.

? Review Staff Accountant work for completeness, accuracy, appropriate support, and compliance with established procedures.

? Maintain detailed documentation of accounting methodologies, reconciliations, procedures, open items, and conclusions.

? Work directly with client personnel to obtain information, resolve financial issues, communicate findings, and maintain recurring reporting deadlines.

? Assist with development and improvement of accounting procedures, internal controls, reporting processes, reconciliations, and financial-management workflows.

? Work effectively within federal financial systems and large data sets. Experience with Oracle/Delphi, GTAS, federal grant systems, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable federal systems is highly desirable.

? Manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and

accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS

? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

? CPA license or active CPA candidacy preferred.

? Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting, outsourced accounting,

governmental, nonprofit, or professional-services experience strongly preferred.

? Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the full accounting cycle.

? Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal

entries, and account analysis.

? Experience reviewing the work of other accounting staff and providing actionable feedback.

? Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, data analysis, and reconciliation of large

data sets.

? Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or other accounting or ERP systems.

? Ability to research accounting issues, exercise professional judgment, and communicate conclusions

clearly.

? Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple deadlines with limited

supervision.

? Experience with grants, governmental accounting, federal awards, or 2 CFR Part 200 is a plus.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

? Produces complete, accurate work that is ready for review and supported by clear documentation.

? Takes ownership of deadlines and follows through on open items without repeated reminders.

? Understands the client's business and accounting needs, not just the individual task assigned.

? Uses professional judgment to identify issues, propose solutions, and know when escalation is

necessary.

? Reviews staff work thoughtfully and helps build the team's technical capability.

? Works efficiently within established budgets and communicates early when scope or complexity may

affect timing.

SOFT SKILLS

? Ownership: Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for assigned work, deadlines, client

commitments, and overall contributions to the team.

? Drive/Ambition: Shows initiative, motivation, and a desire to grow professionally while consistently

working toward team and organizational goals.

? Good Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with colleagues, clients, and

stakeholders, including timely follow-up and escalation of issues.

? Ability to Do the Work: Demonstrates the technical knowledge, judgment, and practical skills required

to complete assigned responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

? Team Oriented: Works collaboratively, supports team members, shares knowledge, and contributes to

a cooperative and accountable work environment.

? Develop Analytical Skills / Problem Solving: Uses critical thinking to investigate issues, identify root

causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions.

? Curiosity / Confidence / Mastery at Their Level: Asks thoughtful questions, seeks to understand the

purpose behind the work, and demonstrates growing confidence and mastery appropriate to the role.

? Tech Savvy: Learns and uses accounting, workflow, reporting, and collaboration technology effectively

to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.
