Equipment Operator I
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Shift: A1, 12-hour rotating shift, 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
Position Summary
The Equipment Operator I safely and efficiently operates simple automated assembly machines used to manufacture medical devices. The role involves routine, repetitive production tasks, responding to basic machine faults, and occasionally aligning stations or fixtures. The operator helps maintain production quality and meet established run rates while following company procedures and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Keep the work area and equipment clean.

Read and follow work instructions and procedures.

Operate equipment safely and in accordance with company standards.

Start machines from a powered-off state.

Complete work-order setups in electronic batch record, data acquisition, and inventory management systems.

Operate machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce quality products at established run rates.

Read equipment gauges and dials as required.

Interpret machine faults, correct basic issues, and restart equipment.

Complete production records and work-order documentation.

Inspect or test products to confirm quality.

Weigh, count, package, and label finished products.

Learn to operate simple machines and demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple machines.
Simple machines generally have fewer than 10 stations, require limited operator attention, involve press- or torque-fit components, and need minimal station or fixture alignment.
Qualifications

Able to read and understand procedures.

Basic computer experience preferred, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

High school diploma, GED, or completion of an employment assessment, as applicable.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
