Manufacturing Process EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing operations through the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for complex machined components.
This role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, CNC Programming, and Production teams to establish manufacturing methods, process flows, routings, travelers, operation sheets, and work instructions that support efficient, repeatable, and high-quality production.
The Manufacturing Process Engineer serves as a key technical resource responsible for improving production readiness, supporting new product introductions, resolving manufacturing challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies.

Establish manufacturing methods, process flows, routings, travelers, operation sheets, and work instructions.

Review engineering drawings, models, specifications, and customer requirements to determine manufacturing approaches.

Support manufacturing readiness activities for new and existing products.

Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and implement corrective actions to improve process performance.

Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, CNC Programming, and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
-
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and product launches.
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, delivery, cost, and operational performance.

Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and process control records.
-
Assist with tooling implementation, process validation, and capacity improvement initiatives.
-
Support manufacturing floor activities and serve as a technical resource for production teams.
-
Participate in Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
-
Experience supporting manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.
-
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, models, and technical requirements.
-
Knowledge of manufacturing process development, routing creation, and production workflow planning.
-
Experience supporting manufacturing troubleshooting and process optimization efforts.
-
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Production, and Programming teams.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
-
Willingness to spend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting production and process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
-
Equivalent combinations of education, military experience, technical training, and manufacturing experience may also be considered.

Experience supporting aerospace, precision machining, rotating hardware, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
-
Experience utilizing CAD systems such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or comparable platforms.
-
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar manufacturing systems.
-
Knowledge of GD&T and aerospace quality standards.
-
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, PFMEA, APQP, or PPAP methodologies.

Experience supporting new product introductions, process validation activities, tooling implementation, or automation initiatives.

Experience driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, throughput, delivery, or cost.

Experience supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence projects.

Work Environment
This position operates within a collaborative aerospace manufacturing environment and requires close interaction with Engineering, Quality, Operations, CNC Programming, and Production teams.
The role includes both office-based engineering activities and direct manufacturing floor support. Success requires strong technical problem-solving skills, process ownership, and the ability to support both day-to-day production needs and long-term manufacturing improvements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cheshire, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
