Full job description

Summary:

Meta is seeking an RSE Technical Domain Manager (TDM), an IC role responsible for the implementation and deployment of corporate network infrastructure across Meta’s Office, Data Center, Retail, and POP facility types. This role combines deep technical expertise with project management and hardware logistics to drive infrastructure from design through construction and build delivery, with a focus on technical problem-solving, standards development, and hands-on project execution. The TDM partners closely with internal customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that improve connectivity and services across Meta’s global portfolio.

Required Skills:

Technical Domain Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across office, data center, retail, and POP facility types

  2. Serve as the primary technical interface between network engineering, build, connectivity and design teams

  3. Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones across multiple concurrent builds

  4. Drive alignment of network technology milestones with build schedules

  5. own tracking and reporting of project status

  6. Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for network build projects across all facility types

  7. Perform risk management and change management on active projects

  8. Collaborate with network engineering, DEC/Workplace Design, and connectivity teams to develop comprehensive network infrastructure design packages tailored to each building type

  9. Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application across all facility verticals including retail environments with unique connectivity requirements

  10. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for MDF/IDF and telecom room design — rack elevations, power and cooling requirements, pathways, structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and wireless access layouts — across diverse facility types

  11. Use drafting software to produce and mark up architectural/technology drawings with electrical and data symbols aligned to Meta design standards

  12. Influence future iterations of facility and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability

  13. Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces including retail environments, specialized labs, and unique build-out configurations

  14. Partner with engineering teams to ensure fiber infrastructure management tools accurately reflect design intent and capture infrastructure changes

  15. Drive all aspects of network construction and deployment including new sites, retrofits, and build-outs across office, data center, retail, and POP facilities

  16. Provide hands-on technical leadership during analysis, design development, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases

  17. Perform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction teams, design architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure builds according to Meta's standards

  18. Manage onsite integration for all new builds and retrofits — removing roadblocks for technicians and contractors during deployment

  19. Perform testing and commissioning handovers from Meta commissioning technicians and third-party vendors

  20. Work with design and build teams to identify and remedy process gaps, driving continuous improvement in delivery methodologies

  21. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors across the build and technology ecosystem

  22. Manage end-to-end hardware procurement lifecycle — from specification and vendor selection through purchase orders, delivery tracking, and warehouse coordination

  23. Own hardware logistics including inventory management, staging, shipping to site, and ensuring materials arrive aligned with build schedules

  24. Coordinate with vendors and supply chain partners to resolve lead time issues, backorders, and hardware substitutions

  25. Order internet and WAN circuits and own accountability for their on-time delivery, tracking orders through provisioning and installation so circuit delivery aligns with build schedules

  26. Perform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure internal tools reflect network hardware and circuits

  27. Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices

  28. Initiate and lead strategic initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and standardization through coding and automation

  29. Maintain technical references, processes, and training documentation

  30. Provide day-to-day project coordination and quality assurance across active deployments and tasks

  31. Travel up to 50% based on project demand

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  3. 7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale Office/Data Center network infrastructure

  4. Deep working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies

  5. Knowledge of enterprise and provider level network hardware platforms (IP and Optical)

  6. Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design and installation best practices, industry standards, applications, and limitations

  7. Knowledge of the data center/office building architecture and network design, construction, and start up/commissioning processes

  8. Experience driving cross-functional collaboration across technical teams through infrastructure project lifecycles

  9. Track record of identifying infrastructure challenges, defining actionable plans, and delivering solutions within scope and schedule

  10. Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills

  4. Experience delivering network infrastructure projects in diverse facility types (data centers, corporate offices, retail/commercial spaces)

  5. Experience ordering and tracking carrier circuits through to delivery for new sites

  6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  7. Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationships through project completion
