Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Work Management Business Project Manager to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program. This role will serve as the primary business lead responsible for transforming and standardizing work management processes across maintenance, operations, reliability, and field execution teams. The Work Management Business PM will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Supply Chain, and Asset Management leaders, as well as a dedicated Technical Project Manager, to drive business readiness, stakeholder alignment, process adoption, and operational transformation. This role is responsible for ensuring the organization successfully transitions to future-state work management processes and maximizes the business value of the S/4HANA implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Work Management Transformation Leadership
- Lead the business workstream focused on Work Management transformation.
- Drive alignment on future-state work execution processes and operating models.
- Facilitate process standardization across business units, sites, plants, and operational teams.
- Support decisions regarding work prioritization, approval workflows, planning and scheduling processes, and execution practices.
- Ensure business objectives and operational requirements are reflected in solution design.
Business Engagement & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary liaison between the program and Work Management stakeholders.

Build strong partnerships with: o Maintenance leaders o Operations leaders o Planning and scheduling teams o Reliability teams o Field execution teams o Contractor management teams

Facilitate workshops, design reviews, governance meetings, and decision forums.

Escalate business risks, issues, and key decisions.

Develop executive and operational leadership communications.
Business Process Transformation Coordinate transformation activities across core Work Management processes, including:
- Work Identification
- Work Request Management
- Work Order Creation and Approval
- Work Prioritization
- Work Planning
- Resource Planning
- Maintenance Scheduling
- Weekly Scheduling and Execution
- Emergency and Break-In Work Processes
- Contractor Work Management
- Permit-to-Work Coordination
- Work Execution
- Work Closure and History Capture
- Backlog Management
- KPI and Performance Management
Governance & Program Integration
- Partner closely with the Technical PM to align business requirements and delivery priorities.
- Manage business risks, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions.
- Track business milestones and readiness commitments.
- Ensure operational impacts are identified and managed proactively.
- Participate in program governance and steering committee reviews.
Testing, Readiness & Deployment
- Coordinate business participation in testing activities.
- Ensure planners, schedulers, supervisors, and technicians are represented throughout testing cycles.
- Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) readiness and completion.
- Validate operational business scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Support cutover planning and deployment readiness activities.
- Coordinate business support during go-live and hypercare.
Organizational Change & Adoption
- Partner with Change Management resources to assess organizational impacts.
- Support development of communication, training, and adoption strategies.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across field and operational organizations.
- Ensure teams understand revised processes, roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Monitor adoption risks and implement corrective actions where needed.

Ideal Consultant Profile We are seeking a business-focused transformation leader who has practical experience improving and standardizing work management processes in large operational environments. The ideal consultant understands how maintenance and operations organizations execute daily work and can effectively engage planners, schedulers, supervisors, reliability engineers, and frontline personnel. They can drive process decisions, build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, and ensure operational teams are prepared to adopt new ways of working. This individual will focus on business process transformation, operational execution, stakeholder alignment, organizational readiness, and adoption, while partnering with a dedicated Technical PM responsible for SAP configuration, development, integration, data conversion, and technical deployment activities.
Skills and Requirements

10+ years of experience in maintenance, operations, implementation, work management, reliability, or operational transformation.

Experience serving as a Business PM, Workstream Lead, or Transformation Lead on enterprise transformation initiatives.

At least one full SAP S/4HANA implementation or major ERP transformation.

Deep understanding of work management principles and leading practices.

Experience with planning, scheduling, maintenance execution, and operational workflows.

Proven ability to drive business process standardization across multiple operating locations.

Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.

Experience in asset-intensive industries, including: o Energy o Oil & Gas o Chemicals o Utilities o Mining o Manufacturing

Experience with: o SAP S/4HANA EAM o SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) o SAP Asset Manager o Work Management optimization initiatives o Reliability-centered maintenance programs o Planning and Scheduling Centers of Excellence

PMP, MBA, CMRP, CRL, or equivalent certifications.
