Full job description

About the job We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to lead our Memory Technology team and shape Nordic's future memory IP portfolio. The Memory Technology Group develops and delivers the memory IP that sits at the heart of every Nordic Semiconductor product. Combining people leadership with deep technical expertise, you will guide a team of engineers, collaborate closely with R&D and technology partners, and ensure world-class memory solutions from concept to production. You will lead and motivate a team of engineers working across a hybrid model of office-based and remote work, and you will act as the primary interface between memory technology and Nordic's R&D design teams. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, project ownership and commercial responsibility. This is a role for someone who wants both: deep involvement in memory technology and the satisfaction of leading a strong engineering team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, working across on-site and remote/home-office arrangements, and ensure the team's skills and capacity match Nordic's strategy and long-term needs.

  • Own the technical strategy and development roadmap for Nordic's memory IP portfolio, covering both long-term innovation and daily execution.

  • Collect and consolidate requirements and specifications from Nordic R&D, translate them into development plans and delivery schedules, and drive projects from initiation through to completion.

  • Provide technical approval at all major milestones: project approval, tape-out, prototype approval and transfer to production.

  • Ensure memory IP deliverables and views meet the needs of Nordic's SoC design flows and the requirements of the group's customers.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Nordic R&D and technology partners

Key Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering or a comparable field.

  • Substantial experience in semiconductor memory development and knowledge of embedded memory technologies, with a track record of delivering memory IP to production silicon.

  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, including distributed or hybrid teams. Formal line-management experience is preferred; strong technical lead experience with a clear ambition to move into management will also be considered.

  • Solid understanding of memory architecture, circuit design and device physics: bitcell arrays, sense amplifiers, timing and self-timed paths, low-voltage operation, retention and power modes, redundancy and repair, ECC and memory BIST.

Personal Skills

  • A motivating and approachable leader who builds trust and gives people room to grow.

  • Comfortable making technical decisions under uncertainty and standing behind them.

  • Clear communicator, able to move between deep technical discussion and executive-level summary.

  • Structured and delivery-focused, with the discipline to keep multiple parallel commitments on track.

  • Collaborative across sites, functions and time zones.
