Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer to support a critical initiative focused on achieving IEC 62443-4-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 certification for its products. This consultant will evaluate existing software development practices, product security controls, and technical documentation to identify compliance gaps and certification requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IEC 62443 standards and a strong cybersecurity background supporting software, networking, embedded systems, or industrial control environments. A significant portion of the role will involve reviewing source code and technical designs to understand product functionality and validate compliance with cybersecurity standards. The Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer will create, organize, and maintain detailed certification documentation and supporting evidence required for assessment activities. This individual will work closely with engineering, product, quality, and leadership teams to gather information, drive remediation efforts, and support certification readiness. While there will be occasional interaction with external certification agencies and vendors, the majority of collaboration will be with internal stakeholders and development teams. This is a fully remote six-month contract opportunity with an immediate need for someone who can quickly contribute to achieving key cybersecurity certification objectives.

Skills and Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting IEC 62443-4-1 and/or IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity compliance and certification efforts.
  • Strong cybersecurity background with experience securing industrial controls, embedded systems, networking equipment, routers, or related products.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret source code to identify security requirements, compliance gaps, and remediation needs.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and organizing technical compliance documentation while coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Previous experience working directly with certification bodies, auditors, or third-party assessment organizations.
  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices and product security frameworks.
  • Experience within energy, power generation, industrial automation, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, Security+, IEC 62443 certifications, or similar.
