Production Manager

Kirkwood, MO

Title: Production Manager

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Job Purpose: To manage and drive results through the performance of an assigned team of Project Managers (across all opportunity types) and Specialty Leaders, delivering excellent remodeling work across all remodeling trades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop an assigned team of Project Managers (PMs) and Specialty Leaders through regular one-on-ones, coaching, and performance reviews

  • Meet with PMs and Specialty Leaders weekly or bi-weekly to review schedules, job notes, and provide support with problems or concerns

  • Review job budgets, work scopes, and selection sheets with PMs to ensure proper direct margin

  • Actively manage the working relationship between assigned specialty trade teams and carpentry-led project teams — surfacing scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and coordination breakdowns before they escalate

  • Partner with peer Production Managers to maintain consistent standards, balance workloads, and ensure coverage across all opportunity types and specialty trades

  • Perform regular job site visits to evaluate quality of work, job progress, and safety compliance across all scopes

  • Ensure proper use of pre-construction, construction, and post-construction processes across all assigned projects

  • Coordinate with Sales and Design teams to maintain optimal project execution and on-time completion

  • Take the lead on customer issues that escalate past Project Manager level; ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction

  • Monitor and report production metrics and KPIs for assigned team to the COO

  • Support and uphold the production department's annual business plan and budget

  • Protect capital asset investments of the Production Team

  • Support recruitment of employees and subcontractors

  • 5 to 8 years of supervisory or managerial experience

  • 8 to 10 years of construction industry experience; project management and logistics experience a plus; experience spanning multiple remodeling opportunity types preferred

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred

  • Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, decision-making, resource and time management, planning and organizing, teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and follow-through; working knowledge of finance, risk management, and business process improvement

  • Exceptional communication, motivational, and relationship-building skills

  • Proficient in CRMs/ERPs, project management software, and standard business applications commonly used in the remodeling industry

  • Have a valid class E driver's license, auto insurance, and ability to transport yourself between job sites

  • Ability to sit and stand at a desk for extended periods; regularly walk, talk, hear, view computer screens, type, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
