DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides hands-on nursing care by supporting treatment plans, monitoring health conditions, and ensuring continuity of care within the institution. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: 1. Vital Monitoring: Check vital signs, observe health changes, and report physical and emotional behaviors 2. Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications and document treatments as ordered 3. Direct Care: Assist ambulatory and non ambulatory inmates with daily living needs and hygiene 4. Emergency Response: Provide first aid, CPR, and AED support during medical emergencies 5. Record Management: Record information in the electronic health record and prepare reports for transfers or release 6. Equipment Care: Sterilize instruments, maintain supplies, and ensure treatment areas remain stocked Interested in learning more? The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 3. 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM 4. 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM 5. 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM 6. Work hours TO BE DETERMINED 7. Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs. 8. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. 9. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 10.
