Summary
This position is located in the Bureau of Administration, Global Operations, Logistics Operations Directorate, Office of Secure Logistics, Warehouse Division. The Logistics Operations Directorate provides global logistics support for the people and programs of America's diplomatic community.
Duties
- Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are effectively communicated to the team and fully integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products and services.
- Monitor and report on the status and progression of work.
- Apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness
- Ensures warehouse operations remain compliant with regulations and policies.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing secure logistics materials, including receipt, inspection, storage, maintenance, stock levels, and shipping. Experience advising and assisting on storage and handling requirements. Experience collaborating with customers and vendors to ensure maximum program productivity and efficiency. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.

The evaluation process consists of the ApplyGov Competency Based Assessments for which applicants will be assigned a score between 70 and 100. A resume review will be conducted for minimum qualification requirements, as described in the “Qualifications” section of this announcement, of applicants found to be among the top qualified candidates based on assessment scores. Resumes longer than two pages will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered further. You will be assessed on the following job-related competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics): Non-Supervisory: Oral Communication, Writing, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Technology Orientation, Customer Service, Attention to Detail and Self-Management. Set aside at least 2 hours to take the external assessments; however, most applicants complete the assessments in less time. There are timed sections that must be completed within the allotted timeframe. Your score from the external assessment (i.e., Non-supervisory) will remain on file for 180 days, allowing you to apply for multiple DOS-announced positions without needing to retake the assessments. Top applicants may be referred to the hiring manager for further consideration. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Leadership Performance monitoring and evaluation. Ability to make decisions based on information from a wide variety of sources. Ability to manage staff and resources. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in secure environments. Knowledge of inbound shipment processing, inventory management, and export.
