Job Title: Avionics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment, including radar, radio, pulse, navigation, auto pilot, and compass systems installed in aircraft. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure the accuracy of assembly and installation, perform in-flight adjustments, and comply with maintenance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect components of avionics equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wires.

  • Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness using test equipment like oscilloscopes and digital meters.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results.

  • Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.

  • Accompany flight crew to perform in-flight adjustments and determine required post-flight repair work.

  • Comply with FAR required maintenance such as 91.411 and 91.413 inspections.

  • Operate ground station for air-to-station checks of radar or other equipment.

  • Fabricate wiring harnesses.

  • Comply with avionics upgrades and modifications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in inspecting, testing, and repairing avionics equipment.

  • Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, and circuit analyzers.

  • Experience in analyzing test results and following technical documents.

  • Skilled in calibrating equipment and performing in-flight adjustments.

  • Knowledge of FAR maintenance requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with coax crimping and troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of the function of relays.

  • Ability to fabricate wiring harnesses and terminate wire harnesses.

Work Environment

Candidates will work in the hangar at PDK Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3 PM, with some flexibility in hours due to ATL traffic. Occasional overtime may be required, though it is expected to be rare.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chamblee, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
