Job Title: Electrical Hardware EngineerJob Description

This role focuses on designing, developing, and validating electronic hardware and assemblies for advanced space-based and ground-based systems. You will contribute to cutting-edge small satellite and miniaturized sensor technologies, supporting missions that operate in very low Earth orbit and other challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware and assemblies for space-based and ground-based instrumentation.

  • Perform electrical testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems.

  • Interface closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure robust, manufacturable board designs that meet electrical and mechanical requirements.

  • Design wire harnesses, including connector selection, routing, and documentation, to support complex system integrations.

  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities for electronic hardware, including test procedures, test setups, and documentation.

  • Ensure flight hardware meets handling and operational requirements for aerospace applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, systems, and test engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Document designs, test results, and hardware configurations in accordance with engineering and quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on hardware design.

  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing, including use of lab equipment for measurement, debugging, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience interfacing with PCB layout, including providing constraints, reviewing layouts, and supporting design-for-manufacture.

  • Experience in wire harness design, including cable assemblies, connectors, and routing practices.

  • Background in verification and validation of electronic hardware, including test planning and execution.

  • Experience working with flight hardware handling requirements.

  • Aerospace experience preferred, particularly with small satellites or related systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with miniaturized sensors or compact instrumentation systems.

  • Familiarity with space-based or remote sensing systems and their unique environmental and reliability constraints.

  • Exposure to missions or projects operating in very low Earth orbit (VLEO) or similarly demanding environments.

  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate clearly across functions.

Work Environment

The role is based in a combined office and manufacturing environment that supports the full lifecycle of advanced instrumentation and small satellite hardware. You will work in engineering offices for design and documentation activities and in laboratory or manufacturing areas for hands-on hardware integration, testing, and validation. The environment includes exposure to electronic test equipment, assembly stations, and flight hardware handling procedures, requiring careful adherence to engineering and quality standards.
