Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Development Officer for our Barrow Neurological Foundation, you will serve as a key ambassador for our hospital’s mission, responsible for driving philanthropic growth through the planning and implementation of strategic giving programs. You will be the primary lead for cultivating revenue streams that directly support our hospitals and clinical service lines.

Every day you will actively manage a donor portfolio to meet annual fundraising targets while coordinating high-impact stewardship, donor recognition, and signage initiatives. To be successful in this role you will possess a proven ability to secure charitable gifts and a talent for building long-term, meaningful relationships. You must be an exceptional communicator who can represent our organization with professionalism and integrity, demonstrating both the strategic mindset to reach financial goals and the meticulous attention to detail required for donor stewardship and data security.

  • Partner with staff and utilize research to identify new donor leads and expand the organizational pipeline.

  • Build and nurture strong ties with board members, physicians, and staff to identify potential benefactors and secure major gifts.

  • Maintain consistent, high-touch communication with donors and prospects through in-person meetings, digital outreach, and networking.

  • Maintain operational expertise in Blackbaud CRM to accurately track prospect plans, activity, and engagement data.

  • Represent the Foundation and hospital at community events and functions, including those occurring outside of standard business hours.

Barrow Neurological Foundation’s mission is simple: to be the catalyst of our donors’ passion for transformation by providing the resources for Barrow Neurological Institute to achieve its mission of saving human lives through innovative treatment, groundbreaking, curative research and educating the next generation of the world’s leading neuro clinicians. When someone gives to Barrow, 100 percent of their donations fund compassionate patient care, advances in research and education for the future leaders in the neurosciences. With your help, we can change the course of medicine for people battling the most challenging brain and spine disorders.
