Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Engineer to support an advanced aerospace and defense program focused on developing next-generation spacecraft, hypersonic systems, re-entry vehicles, and autonomous flight platforms. This individual will be responsible for designing and testing GN&C algorithms, developing high-fidelity simulations, implementing flight software, and supporting integration and flight testing activities in both atmospheric and spaceflight environments. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining 6-DOF simulations, applying flight mechanics and control theory principles, supporting trajectory optimization efforts, troubleshooting operational anomalies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another related STEM discipline
  • 3+ years of engineering experience supporting aerospace, spacecraft, missile, hypersonic, aircraft, autonomous systems, or related vehicle programs
  • Experience developing Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) algorithms
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with simulation and modeling, including 6-DOF dynamics simulations
  • Programming experience in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience implementing, testing, or validating flight software
  • Experience applying flight mechanics, controls, aerodynamics, or trajectory analysis principles
  • Active Top Secret Clearance required prior to start
  • Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Experience supporting spacecraft operations, space systems, orbital mechanics, or astrodynamics
  • Experience with hypersonic systems or re-entry vehicle GN&C
  • Familiarity with Kalman Filters, state estimation, sensor fusion, GPS/INS, or air data systems
  • Background in classical, modern, or nonlinear control system design
  • Model-based development experience
  • Flight test support experience
  • Active TS/SCI, Tier 5 (T5), or SSBI clearance
  • Experience working in fast-paced R&D or prototype development environments
