Full job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Verify that material and paperwork for the job being performed is correct. *Plan machining in accordance with all blueprints and hard copy and electronic technical data and specifications, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerances as required. *Set-up mills by adjusting all necessary fixturing and machine attachments; setting and applying tool and machine reference points and offsets and calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. *Check stock and load and unload the machine. *Create an in-process inspection report for each operation, as necessary, if one does not exist. *Identify non-conformance, if discovered, notify your supervisor so that it can be documented identified, dispositioned, and segregated from the remainder of the lot. *Capable of development and implementation of CNC machining process. *Must be familiar with quality standards (ISO9001/AS9100). *Verify that there are no chips on either the jaws/fixture or on the part/material to be machined. *Load the part/material, verify that the part is properly seated in the fixture/jaws, snug against any stop pins prior to clamping or tightening of the jaws. *Identify discrepant material left in your work area, notify your supervisor so that it can be dispositioned and segregated. *Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and documents pertaining to your job and department. *Identify any problems/issues while running an operation, notify the supervisor immediately. *Responsible for keeping the machine and the immediate area clean. *Monitor coolant levels. *Clean the chips from machine at the end of your shift, or when the job is finished. *Complete finishing and deburring on parts as necessary. *Create and edit CNC programs that support the machining of complex, precision metal components on multiple-axis CNC milling machining centers (CAM file generation, post-processor machine code generation). *Perform technical data package review of components that require fabrication (CAD model & engineering drawing validation). *Perform machining process development & optimization (part setup/fixturing, machining strategy/order of operations, tool selection, speed/feed process parameter selection). *Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job specific applications (based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability). *Programming prove-out validation (computer simulation tools, First Time Process Reviews, machine dry runs). *Work with machinists and manufacturing engineers to identify process improvement opportunities (reduced machining/setup time, improved part quality, reduced manufacturing risk) and incorporate required design changes (customer driven changes, technical performance improvements, improved manufacturability). *Participate in teams comprised of machinists/operators, manufacturing engineers, production supervisors, quality engineers/inspectors, and operations/program management to support program schedule & performance goals, mitigate manufacturing risks, and improve operational efficiency. *Verify that all company and personal inspection equipment and tools being used are in calibration. *At the completion of a job, a total quantity count must be written on the route sheet along with MDR numbers, his employee number, and the date. *Should possess expertise and thorough understanding in interpreting part prints, dimensioning, as well as tolerance. *Program CNC machine based on engineering drawings and specifications. *Edit G Code programs on various machines. *Prove out and edit programs written in G Code. *Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints. *Adhere to all company safety policies including the use of eye and ear protection. *Perform all functions of the job while adhering to established quality policies and procedures. *Uphold the company core values. *Other duties as assigned
