Simon & Schuster Spring 2027 Publishing Internship Program
Discover how books come to life at Simon & Schuster. Our paid spring internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience in book publishing, with opportunities in departments including editorial, marketing, publicity, corporate marketing, sales and production.
Working alongside publishing professionals and with guidance from a mentor, interns will contribute to ongoing projects, learn how their department supports the publishing process, and build skills relevant to an entry-level publishing career.
No prior publishing experience is required. We welcome students from all academic disciplines who bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love of books and storytelling.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities vary by department and may include:

Support ongoing projects through research, writing, organizing materials, and administrative tasks.

Collaborate with team members and gain exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of an entry-level publishing assistant.

Participate in relevant department and company meetings to learn about publishing priorities and how teams work together.

Receive guidance and feedback from a mentor as you develop your skills and explore career interests.

Program Details and Eligibility

Duration: Eight weeks beginning in February.

Schedule: Two full days per week, totaling 16 hours weekly. Applicants must be able to commit tothis schedule for the duration of the program.

Compensation: This is a paid internship; interns are paid $16.50/hour.

Locations: Opportunities are available through our New York City and Stoughton, Massachusetts offices.

Student status: Applicants must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program.
