This role involves gathering detailed requirements, architecting and developing solutions, and supporting strategic planning discussions with technical, business, and client stakeholders.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on development with Java and the Spring Framework

  • Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful web services, and enterprise application development

  • Experience designing and implementing application features and resolving complex technical problems

  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases

  • Experience with automated testing, Git, Bamboo, and CI/CD practices

  • Experience working in Agile development teams

  • Ability to independently deliver assigned work and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong problem-solving, verbal communication, and technical writing skills

  • Experience deploying and supporting applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) or a comparable cloud platform

  • Working knowledge of Kafka or RabbitMQ and non-relational databases such as MongoDB preferred

  • Experience using Rally, Jira, and Confluence, along with supporting high-volume, highly available enterprise applications preferred

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a member of the technical team, working independently on smaller initiatives and partnering closely with other development teams across Schwab to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions

  • Contribute to the success of critical projects by supporting the delivery of essential risk management systems

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and services using Spring and Spring Boot

  • Build and integrate REST APIs that support high-volume transactions in highly available environments

  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions

  • Own assigned features through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support

  • Write automated unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot application issues

  • Create technical documentation, design diagrams, and API specifications

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and distributed development teams to deliver project and release commitments

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to improvements in application performance, scalability, and delivery practices

  • Grow with the team through knowledge sharing and continuous adoption of best practices
