Accountant

Description

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Cedar Rapids. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable handling a large volume of daily account activity. The position focuses on maintaining accurate cash records, supporting core accounting operations, and using Excel and PDF editing tools to complete key documentation and reconciliation tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-volume daily bank reconciliations by matching account activity against prior-day wire transfers and lockbox payments.

• Review incoming cash transactions for accuracy and investigate discrepancies to keep financial records current and balanced.

• Use Microsoft Excel to organize transaction data, track reconciliation activity, and prepare supporting schedules.

• Work with PDF documentation and editing tools to update, review, and maintain financial records tied to banking activity.

• Assist with month-end close tasks by preparing reconciliations and ensuring supporting entries are completed on time.

• Communicate issues or variances clearly to internal stakeholders so outstanding items can be resolved promptly.

Requirements

• Experience completing bank reconciliations in a high-volume accounting environment.

• Working knowledge of month-end close processes and related financial documentation.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and reconciliation support.

• Ability to work with PDF files and editing tools in a detail-focused setting.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve transactional discrepancies.
