Summary:

The Nurse Supervisor, Perioperative Services will work in collaboration with nursing leadership to develop and implement patient care policies to ensure they are based on evidence and/or best practice nursing standards and comply with regulatory requirements. As new nursing knowledge and innovations in practice advance, works to implement and monitor the application into practice. Ensures standardized implementation across their area of responsibility by working closely with the nurses. Coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, including appropriate staffing levels to ensure quality and safe patient centered care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN, BAN) within two (2) years of start date.

  • Current Montana Licensure Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within sixty (60) days of start date.

  • Two (2) years of experience working as an RN.

  • Prior work experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • TNCC within one (1) year of hire.

  • CNOR within one (1) year of hire.

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Assists leadership with broad operations to ensure the provision of comprehensive departmental services in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.

  • Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to long-range strategic operational planning, care and service design and development of organizational policies, which reflect the mission of the organization.

  • Coordinates and oversees the organization-wide departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance.

  • Demonstrates responsible management of all departmental resources.

  • Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency. Ensures staff professional needs are met.

  • Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards

  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements:

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Fine-Finger Movements (Continuously): Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than using the whole hand as in handling.

  • Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed materials, and handwritten materials.

  • Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.

  • Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
