About the Role

As a Senior Storage Engineer, you will make an impact by managing and supporting enterprise storage, backup, and recovery environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, capacity, security, and lifecycle management of Dell EMC storage platforms, backup technologies, and disaster recovery solutions. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team working collaboratively with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to deliver reliable and compliant storage and data protection services across global environments.

In this role, you will

  • Administer Dell EMC Unity, PowerMax, and Isilon (PowerScale) storage platforms.

  • Provision and manage LUNs, storage pools, snapshots, replication, and storage groups.

  • Perform capacity planning, utilization analysis, performance tuning, and storage optimization activities.

  • Manage NAS file services, including SMB/CIFS and NFS shares, quotas, and access controls.

  • Administer Fibre Channel SAN environments, zoning, multipathing, and storage connectivity.

  • Support storage migrations, technology refresh initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Monitor storage health, performance, capacity, and availability to ensure operational excellence.

  • Administer Dell EMC Data Domain backup appliances and replication technologies.

  • Manage Commvault backup schedules, policies, retention configurations, and restore activities.

  • Support Druva backup and recovery services for endpoints, Microsoft 365, virtual machines, and cloud workloads.

  • Perform backup monitoring, recovery validations, disaster recovery testing, and restoration activities.

  • Troubleshoot storage, backup, replication, and recovery-related incidents.

  • Support ITSM processes including Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Request Management.

  • Create operational reports, documentation, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure service reliability and compliance.

What you need to have to be considered

  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise storage and backup environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Dell EMC Unity, PowerMax, and Isilon (PowerScale) administration.

  • Strong knowledge of storage provisioning, snapshots, replication technologies, and capacity management.

  • Experience administering Fibre Channel SAN and NAS environments.

  • Expertise with Dell EMC Data Domain, including backup storage management and replication support.

  • Experience managing Commvault backup and recovery solutions.

  • Knowledge of Druva cloud backup and recovery technologies.

  • Experience performing backup restores, disaster recovery testing, and recovery validation activities.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across storage, backup, and infrastructure environments.

  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, reporting, and operational support processes.

  • Understanding of ITIL practices including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise storage environments.

  • Knowledge of storage modernization, migration, and technology refresh initiatives.

  • Experience with storage performance analysis and root cause investigation.

  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and business continuity processes.

  • Experience working within highly available, SLA-driven enterprise environments.

  • Industry certifications in Dell EMC Storage, Commvault, VMware, or related infrastructure technologies.

  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud storage and backup platforms.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until October 17, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $116,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
