Job Description

Sephora is seeking an HR Generalist with a strong focus on Leave Administration and Employee Accommodations to support its Human Resources team. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this individual will serve as a key resource for employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, and third-party administrators regarding leave and accommodation matters.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of FMLA, ADA, PFML, disability programs, and state leave regulations while providing exceptional employee support throughout the leave lifecycle. This individual will help guide employees through leave and accommodation requests, participate in ADA accommodation decisions, manage complex employee cases, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.

Skills and Requirements

  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong, hands-on experience administering Leave of Absence (LOA) programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PFML, disability leave, parental leave, and other state leave programs.
  • Experience participating in the ADA interactive process and helping make accommodation recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to evaluate accommodation requests, review supporting documentation, and partner with stakeholders to determine reasonable accommodations.
  • Experience working directly with employees, managers, legal teams, payroll, HR Business Partners, and third-party leave administrators.
  • Experience managing employee leave cases from intake through return-to-work.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave and accommodation regulations.
  • Experience handling unemployment claims and related documentation.
  • Experience coordinating background checks and other HR administrative processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential employee matters.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS/HCM systems and case management platforms.
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Multi-state leave administration experience.
  • Experience partnering closely with employment counsel or legal teams.
