Full job description

The Senior Tax Manager will be a part of Nutanix's tax team, reporting to the Director - US Tax Reporting and Compliance. The tax team is responsible for handling all aspects of the company's tax function, including income tax accounting, compliance, audit, planning, systems, and processes for the US Corporate Tax function. This team works collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and payment. The team is detail-oriented, analytical, and focused on delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Tax Manager will have the opportunity to work on various tax projects and contribute to process improvements.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare/review quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision.

  • Prepare U.S. international tax provisions workpapers such as FDII, GILTI, BEAT, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, US branches etc.

  • Prepare and review deferred tax asset and liability schedules and valuation allowance analysis.

  • Compute/review book-tax differences; prepare/review supporting tax return work paper and documentation.

  • Serve as the federal tax provision subject matter expert, monitor and communicate the impact of tax law changes on the provision

  • Manage section 174 and R&D credit calculation, coordinate with outside providers on the survey process, identify opportunities to automate or bring some of the work in house.

  • Coordinate the preparation of income tax returns with outside tax providers and review federal tax returns

  • Drive the tax technology and AI strategy for Worldwide tax provision and compliance, identifying and implementing opportunities to automate workpapers, tax research, reconciliations and other documentation

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Tax and/or Finance.

  • CPA license is preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of corporate income tax experience, with at least 6 years of hands-on ASC 740 income tax provision experience at a public accounting firm and/or large multinational company.

  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal tax

  • Working knowledge of international tax, such as FDII, FTC, GILTI, Subpart F, and BEAT

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word; experience with Netsuite or OneSource Tax Provision a plus

Work Arrangement

Please note, this role is available remotely.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 156,000 and USD $ 311,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
