Full job description
Job Duties
Provide operational support to school libraries and teacher-directed support to eligible multilingual learners (EL/MLL) across the district, according to state guidelines, the district's Local Literacy Plan, and local requirements. Time is divided between library support and EL/MLL support based on building need. Establish effective communication with building principals, library/media staff, and the licensed EL/MLL teacher about library services and student needs.
Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma / GED
-
At least two years of study (approximately 60 semester credits) at an accredited institution of
higher education, an Associate's, Bachelor's, or higher degree, or a passing score on an MDE approved formal assessment (the ParaPro Assessment or the Paraeducator Assessment).
Minimum Experience Required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with students and families across
linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Verbal and written communication, organizational, and student supervision skills.

Effectively use current technology tools, including library information systems, to enhance
personal productivity.

Ability to travel independently between district buildings on a fixed schedule.

Bilingual ability preferred; not required.

Self-motivated

Ability to work with minimal oversight

Completion of district-required paraprofessional training, WIDA-related training, and READ
Act-aligned professional development, provided by the district.
