Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY: Under direction of Medical Director and Administrative Laboratory Director, according to current applicable federal, state, and local regulations/ accrediting agencies, the POCT Coordinator: · Maintains high level of quality work · Performs various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases · Receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis · Prepares specimens for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, and chemical and morphological examinations · Assumes responsibility for problem solving and quality control, developing new procedures, preparing end of the month reports, monitoring department inventory, and assessing POC personnel competency Coordinator expects to care for adult patients, including older adult through geriatric and pediatric patients, from newborn through adolescence.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: · Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

REQUIRED: · Current Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (ASCP, AMT) as qualified under CLIA ’88 required within 3 months of hire date.
