Head Start/Early Head Start Substitute--Tazewell County and Bland/Smyth/Wythe Counties, Virginia JOB CLASSIFICATION: Variable Hour RATE OF PAY:$15.62 hr., effective September 1, 2024 NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK:Variable NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR: 12 months LOCATION: Tazewell County and Bland/Smyth/Wythe Counties, Virginia DUTIES:The Substitute is under the direct supervision of the Teacher and is responsible for assisting classroom staff in carrying out daily curriculum, supervision of children, meal preparation, cleaning duties, etc. as needed. EDUCATION:High school diploma or GED required; Prefer experience (day care, parenting, working with pre-school children in camp, church settings, or other) in working with pre-school children. ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:Must have a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must submit to Fingerprinting check, Child Protective Services check, Department of Motor Vehicle check, Criminal Background check and submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol test. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to and carry 50 lbs. and this position may require constant or extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, hearing, seeing, speaking, and lifting.
